It seems no woodworker ever has enough clamps. Master craftsman George Berry, “The Woodguy” shows how to clamp up a picture frame with clamps that you make yourself.

Thanks for sharing Colin!
thanks
Great ideas on your video series that helped me a lot. Thanks.
Thanks man! Very comprehensive!
This is a good video. The only problem is you need to have a planer to get the stock absolutely flat before you cut it.
good Job
run that by me again duh
Colin…
Interesting, and a great way to produce ‘L’ angle framing.
However , cutting these rabbets ( or rebates), uses an unguarded blade. So it’s far safer to cut the rabbet on the edge of the large piece first, and then rip the ‘moulding’ off, using the band-saw? Clean up the sawn edge of the larger piece and repeat . It leaves some cleaning up on the ‘L’ section, with a fine set plane, but far safer than trying to rebate a piece of 1.5″ square lumber, with the unguarded blade.
Sure … do what ever works best for you and that you are comfortable doing. There are often different ways to achieve the same end. Always work safely.
Necesito un kreg jig master system y aquí en Venezuela no lo venden y tampoco tengo dinero, habrá una persona caritativa que me obsequie uno y me lo envíe, Gracias.
Thank you Knecht,
Great video.
Haaaa ha haaa! rohenwi wants someone to send him a kreg jig master system to him in Venezuela. He has no money so I think Knecht, we nominate you buddy to send that fella’ a kreg system! He could turn out to be a famous wood worker!….great vid bud!
Thanks for the great video Colin!
why is so damn hard to find a store that sell 1/2 lip all around the inside of the frame. I usually find 1/4 inch lip to put my art but i want 1/2 lip. Anyone has any idea which site has this?
great trick took woodworking in high school and learned alot of tricks but not this one…..nice
Nice handy tip.Thanks
Use the same trick for making trusses.. love the power of wedges.
very cool
Thanks for sharing that is a great trick!!
I’m going to try that tomorrow … makes great sense!
Nice idea. By the way, it’s an octagon not a circle.
Amazing. Thank you. !
Right on brother!!
I saw this video about a month ago. I work for a bespoke woodwork company and true as bob I had to make 33 little walnut frames! I am so glad I found this video! Those frames are solid! And because I had such good pressure I could use Polyurethane glue which tends to control mitres better than PVA.
Many thanks for the vid it helped me big time!
Hillary Clinton is the eldest of three and has two YOUNGER brothers. I think this is the reason why she is so powerful. We need more Hillarys and (Meryl Streeps, who is of the same birth order) don’t you think? So if your first child happens to be a girl, and your second child a boy, then have a third child. Hopefully he is a boy.
You just saved me more money than Gieko ever did, Thank you and God bless
Sometimes the simplest answer is the best. Top-notch video, short, informative, and to the point.
heh you got wood…
You are a God! Thank you!
Great video! Some of our “new” woodworking tools were designed mostly to make money for tool makers. I really like your style and I will visit your website. Thanks
To time consuming and takes up to much worbench space. Good for the hobbyist but can’t use in the shop. A v-nail machine is much faster
Great trick, going to use that one for sure!
that looks great but how tdo you adequately secure the corners, are they only glued or do you actually use v nails at some point, and if so , how, when the ply wood is backing the frame?
@brookefensom Given that he uses the wax to keep from gluing the frame to the plywood, you can deduce that he glues the frame together, and assume he didn’t bother for the video because it wasn’t necessary to demonstrate the clamping technique.
Very cool- Much obliged!
great video my man, good idea
@brookefensom If the proper adhesive is used “probond” wood glue and if the procedure is followed correctly that joint with glue alone will be stronger than any joint bound with nails. Nails are mostly used to hold the joint together while the glue cures. By the way I have tried many methods of gluing frames together and so far this method is the best.
simple and to the point, way to go
is this accent from kentucky?
