If you’re interested in ways to paint a wood picture frame then you’ve discovered the right article. We’re going to speak about all the steps necessary to paint wood picture frames at home and without buying costly products.
Let’s talk about preparing for the painting job. You don’t need much room, so setting up a little workshop in your garage or somewhere else on a table it’ll be good enough. If you’re working on a board, cover it with paper sheets or with a larger piece of textile. Now get everything you need. Get your picture frames or the picture frame. Bring several paintbrushes, the paint, polisher, some dry cloth and a jar loaded with water. Now you’re prepared to start.
Before you start painting, disassemble the picture frame. Put the glass and the backing away, and place the frame on the table. Use the sandpaper to get rid of the old paint and to level the wood surface. Take one of the dry materials and wipe the frame until it’s neat. Now you’re ready to begin painting it. You can do this with just a regular paintbrush but some choose to use a rolling brush and others prefer to utilize a foam roller. It’s up to you which kind of brush you prefer. You can choose many sorts of paints, but we suggest you use acrylic paint. You won’t need undercoat if you use acrylic. You won’t be needing any oil based dissolver because it’s water based; after finishing the work you can wash the paintbrushes and the other stained objects with water alone.
You’re now ready to learn how to make a picture frame look fresh and vibrant. Choose your favorite paintbrush and begin painting the picture frame. Don’t hurry and make sure you brush it evenly. And don’t put too much paint on it because this is just the first layer, and you’re going to apply another coat. When you’re done with the first color level, your work for today is finished. Let the picture frame dry for a day and a night and when it’s dried up you’re going to paint the final coating. If you want to brush it with different colors do the same way, first paint the ground color and after it’s dry, add the other colors.
